What Dentures Can Do For You!

  • Allow you to eat and talk with ease

  • Restore your youthfulness

  • Preserve your facial shape and prevent your cheeks and lips from appearing sunken

  • Prevent bone loss with implant-retained dentures

Traditional Dentures

A full denture replaces a complete arch of teeth. It has a gum-colored, acrylic base with false (but natural-looking) teeth attached. A traditional full denture rests firmly on the gum line and can be held in place with a strong denture adhesive.

A partial denture is used for someone that is missing most, but not all, of their teeth. While the partial denture looks and functions like a full denture, it has fewer teeth on it and is usually held in place with a metal apparatus that attaches to existing teeth.

Advanced, Implant-Supported Dentures

Are you struggling with uncomfortable, ill-fitting dentures that slip and slide throughout the day and pinch the insides of your cheeks? You don't have to settle for a tooth replacement option that doesn't allow you to live your life to its fullest. We proudly offer complete implant services in-house. What does that have to do with dentures you might ask? Quite a bit! We can place four or more implants into your jawbone to act as a stable foundation for your denture. When you wake up in the morning, you can simply snap your dentures into place and not worry about them moving around when you eat, talk, and smile all day!

Can dentures stain?

If you drink a lot of coffee, tea, red wine, or dark-colored sodas, your dentures can become stained as a result just like natural teeth can. Fortunately, there are easy ways you can remove these stains and make your dentures appear whiter and brighter. Homemade solutions containing hydrogen peroxide, white vinegar, or baking soda can be helpful, as can soaking your dentures in denture bleach (not to be confused with regular bleach, which can damage dentures). Taking care of your dentures and cleaning them properly every day is the best way to keep stains from building up and keep your dentures looking nice.

Are dentures painful?

When you begin wearing dentures for the first time, it can take a little while to get used to them. You may experience some gum soreness, especially if you have had any teeth extracted recently. You can try massaging your gums or rinsing your mouth with warm salt water to help relieve some of the tenderness. For greater soreness, we recommend taking over-the-counter pain medication and/or applying a topical gel to your gums. If your gums still feel sore after a few weeks, please make an appointment with us so we can ensure that your custom dentures fit properly.

How much do dentures cost?

Custom dentures can be more of an expenditure than other restorative options, but they are a great investment for anyone who needs a long-term teeth replacement solution. If you have any financial questions or you are concerned about financing your custom dentures, please contact our team. Dr. Johnson and the rest of our office work with patients from all different dental backgrounds and budgets, and we would be happy to find a way to make dentures affordable for you.
