What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants have three parts to them: the implant itself, the abutment, and the crown. The implant is a small titanium post that is biocompatible and will fuse with your jaw when it heals. The post will act as the root for your new tooth. The abutment sits on top of the implant and provides support for your crown to connect to. Finally, the crown is the replacement tooth that Dr. Johnson will meticulously craft right in is office with CEREC. In the end, your smile will look as good as new!

Can Anyone Get Dental Implants?

Every patient is different and not two mouths are the same. Because of this, we will have to perform tests to determine whether or not you are a candidate for dental implants. Even if your jawbone has deteriorated, or isn't healthy enough, we may be able to do some bone grafting to strengthen the area for a successful implant.

Do Dental Implants Hurt?

The actual procedure of placing the dental implant is not an uncomfortable experience, and you most likely won't feel any pain at all. We make sure our patients are comfortable at all times. The implant can feel sore once you are home, which can be treated with medication if you are feeling too uncomfortable. If the procedure itself makes you nervous, we can help settle your nerves with calming sedation options.

Implants to Stabilize Dentures

Did you know that you could use dental implants to anchor your dentures into place? That's right! No more ill fitting dentures that slip, suck, or irritate your gums anymore.

Dental implants are an excellent option for anybody that is missing a tooth, whether you are missing one or several teeth. Your smile will look as natural and be as functional as it ever was, plus you don't have to alter your cleaning routine. Dental implants are cleaned just like your other teeth with brushing and flossing. If you take care of your dental implants, they will last forever!
