"A Beautiful Smile Says It All"

Before

After

We provide our patients with a wide variety of services, but do occasionally refer to a specialist if one is warranted. Some of the services we do provide are:

  • Fillings
This office is a "mercury/silver free zone". We do not use amalgam in any of our restorations. Amalgam contains mercury, which is a toxin, as well as other metals that may cause allergic or sensitivity problems in some people. Amalgam can also further damage an otherwise healthy tooth. Because amalgam is metal, it expands and constricts with temperature changes. This will cause the remaining tooth structure to crack and break. Once this happens, crowns and often root canal therapy may be necessary to save the teeth. Our philosophy is to do a permanent filling right the first time. Thus, we only use composite material in all fillings done in our office. Composite is a natural compound of glass (porcelain), and it is available in a wide range of natural tooth colors, making it possible to blend a filling so well that you may not even be able to see it. Composite is also bonded to healthy tooth structure. This bonding prevents the filling from leaking and re-decay, thus this restoration is permanent, and may virtually last the rest of the life of the tooth.

  • Crowns/ Onlays

With the technology available to us today, crowns and crown type restorations are healthier and more natural looking than ever before. We have access to some of the best dental laboratories in the nation for all of our crowns, and use nothing but the highest quality of porcelain. Porcelain and porcelain type crowns are fast becoming the ideal form of restoration. These, like composite fillings, are bonded to healthy tooth structure rather than traditional cementing. This bond also prevents leaking from occurring. This type of crown restoration can be x-rayed, so future problems can be detected long before it is too late to save the tooth without root canal therapy. Dr. Walker believes in the durability and effectiveness of these types of restorations so strongly, that he guarantees his treatment against failure for the life of the tooth.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of the latest in Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacture (CAD/CAM) technology. Using the CEREC 3D Porcelain Milling System, a 3D image of a prepared tooth is acquired using a small camera placed directly over the tooth. The crown restoration is created on a computer screen using the image data. Finally, while you wait, 2 diamond coated instruments "mill" a ceramic block into a beautiful, all porcelain crown, all in one appointment. No more messy and gooey impressions, and no more lost temporaries during dinner or over the holidays.

  • Veneers and Cosmetic Treatment

If you have ever wanted to change something about your smile, we can help you, whether you simply wish that your teeth were whiter and brighter, or wish that you had that beautiful "Hollywood Smile". Veneers can not only change the color and shape of your teeth, they can also give you the appearance of having gone through years of painful orthodontia. Veneers in most cases require the removal of very little tooth structure, but can drastically change your smile. Where years are usually necessary to straighten your teeth, veneers can give you the look of nearly perfect straight teeth in only 2 visits. As in the case above, veneers can add a sparkle to your smile, and take years off of your appearance. Because veneers are all porcelain and contain no metal, you never need fear of getting that unsightly "black line" that is associated with old-fashioned porcelain and metal crowns. If you are interested in changing your smile, call and schedule a no-charge consultation with Dr. Walker.

  • Cosmetic Smile Design

Have you ever wondered what you might look like if you had a perfect smile? We make available to our patients, free of charge, Cosmetic Smile Designs. From a photograph of your smile, we can manipulate the picture with aid of a computer software program, and give you the kind of smile you have always wanted. Now you can actually see what dramatic results we can help you achieve. Just imagine the thrill you will get when you see yourself, sporting a gorgeous new smile!

       Oral Conscious Sedation

For some people, just the thought of going to the dentist can be traumatic and overwhelming. So terrible is the anticipation they feel, that they often put off having necessary, and most times simple treatment, leaving them at risk for more severe and even possibly life threatening dental problems. For these patients, Oral Conscious Sedation could be an easy solution .

Under constant supervision, medication is given orally and "titrated"over about one hour, until the patient attains such a deep level of sleep , that they virtually don't remember ever having any dental treatment done at all .

Our office is fully trained and equipped to monitor patients while on oral conscious sedation, making the procedure safe and effective . Be sure to ask if Oral Conscious Sedation is right for you.

          Digital X-rays

People today have become more health conscious than ever before. One area of specific concern is excessive exposure to radiation. We are sensitive to our patients concerns about radiation, for this reason we offer digital x-rays here in our office. Standard x-ray films can require 90% more radiation to acquire a diagnostic picture than that of the digital type. A sensor, rather than a dental film, is placed in the patient's mouth, a miniscule amount of radiation is exposed to the sensor, and the x-ray appears full size on a computer screen. A person will actually be exposed to more radiation walking to their car from their dental appointment, than they will be exposed to here in the office.

          The Wand®

For most people, it is not so much the dental treatment they need that makes them dread coming to see us, it is the thought of having to have an injection. Using The Wand®, injections are virtually painless. The Wand® is a microprocessor-controlled CompuDent(TM) delivery system, and because it is computer controlled, you feel nothing! Imagine, pain free injections.
